Periodontal Regeneration - Redefining the Hopeless Prognosis: Saving Poor/ Hopeless Teeth with Periodontal Regeneration
Periodontally affected teeth with minimum attachment are usually identified as being “hopeless” and recommended for extraction. Recently, scaffolds and biologics are redefining our thought process on what was once considered hopeless. In this presentation, possibility of periodontal regenerative therapy to save teeth given a prognosis of poor/hopeless is discussed along with clinical cases.

Learning objectives :
  1. Discuss the benefit to maintain teeth through regeneration with advanced lesions.
  2. Discuss current biologics and materials used today in regenerative therapy.
  3. Redefine traditional hopeless/poor prognosis.
