Ideal Preparation and Adhesive Luting Techniques for CAD/CAM Inlays and Partial Crowns
Impression-free CAD/CAM restorations are attractive for both patients and dentists, but without basic principles they cannot work. Fundamental prerequisites are: 1. Preparation according to materials’ requirements indicate that with preparation alone you can enhance mechanical properties of ceramics up to 30%. Thus, rounded angles are mandatory and many more rules apply. 2. Successful and durable adhesive luting of CAD/CAM materials involve a. Correct pre-treatment of different inlay materials as well as appropriate adhesive bonding of tooth hard tissues. New luting composites but primarily innovative adhesives allow for easier handling and reduced technique sensitivity. Experiences of several prospective clinical studies will support any recommendations for the perfect clinical CAD/CAM procedure.
